This course will take place in the winter semester of 2010/2011 at the Computer Science Department of the University of Potsdam. 

The course will take the form of a project, in which the students will work together to develop a computational model of copyright law, especially with regard to digital content, such as music, videos and software. In addition, policy proposals for changes to the existing legislation will be modeled. A software application will be developed which enables users to compare the effects on example fact situations (cases) of current copyright law and the alternative policies under consideration.
